Sony Corp. and Toshiba Corp. ‘rival incompatible formats, and high-definition DVD players, with 18 months, to continue to divide buyers, the New York Times reported.
Since the company sold more than a million Stand-Alone Player and neither Sony’s Blu-ray format Toshiba HD-DVD has shown a clear advantage of the technology, the number of films or price of the equipment, the newspaper A said.
Toshiba has sold 578000 HD-DVD and Sony 370000 Blu-ray machines this year, the Times reported, citing Adams Media Research.
